The after Black Friday, Small Biz Saturday, and Cyber Monday hangover …
Thanksgiving is done and shopping is underway for the Christmas rush. Today is Giving Tuesday and like many consumers – I forgot! I do really like this day because it reminds us that it’s not always about us.
Every morning, when I wake up, I scroll through all my emails. 99.9% of my emails are retail promotions although I do subscribe to a Bible verse email. Sometimes this gets deleted along with the other 100 emails. Today I did read it and found it to be appropriate with it being “Giving Tuesday”.
“and don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God” Hebrews 13:16
Since launching My Sweet Babboo I’ve been trying to figure out how to give back to the less fortunate. Cruz (my 6-year-old son) and I decided that we will visit sick kids at our local hospital and give them a stuffed animal. That said, I’ve ordered some stuffed animals and we’ll visit them before the holiday season is over. Our plan is to do this regularly as part of community service for our family and for My Sweet Babboo.
Being a mom, I want to teach my son to be kind, empathetic, and charitable. We go through his closet often and donate clothes and toys. He understands this although meeting and chatting with these kids might instill a lot more. I know it does for me.
Happy holidays my friends. I’ll be sure to update you on our visit.
